training & development

We started with only 146 staff, and today the Monarch Group employs 2,800 highly trained personnel. It's this belief in training that has made Monarch one of the real success stories of the aviation sector - and which helps staff fulfil their capabilities and career goals.

Investors in People accreditation

We are delighted that - having made training a top priority for 27 years - Monarch Aircraft Engineering has been accredited with an Investors in People award - a nationally recognised training standard.

It's particularly important because businesses who receive this award are continually assessed to see that they maintain their high standards - and we're proud of the fact that Monarch will actively fund and support staff training year after year.

health & safety

The health, safety and welfare of people working in and visiting Monarch sites is of prime importance. A full policy, together with arrangements, has been prepared in conjunction with our staff and is published and available to Monarch employees on commencement of employment. A synopsis of that policy appears below:

general policy

To do all that is reasonable and practical to prevent any personal injury, damage to health or to property, plant, and equipment arising from foreseeable hazards.

company responsibility

  • The company fully recognises its responsibility under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and accompanying protective legislation.
  • To provide and maintain a safe working environment that complies with current legislation to include safe plant and equipment and safe systems of work.
  • To provide training and instruction, where appropriate, to employees to enable them to perform their work safely and efficiently without risk to themselves or others.
  • To make available necessary safety devices and protective equipment, while ensuring use is under strict supervision.
  • To ensure that systems are established for reporting accidents, the investigation of those accidents, and measures introduced to prevent recurrence.
  • To provide buildings with hygienic facilities and services in order to secure the welfare of personnel within their workplace.
  • To maintain a constant and continuing interest in health, safety and welfare matters. In particular, actively monitoring the effectiveness of the policy, consulting and involving employees and complying with all new legislation.
